True Colours

This week I wanted to add a song that only recently came to my attention from last fall’s anti-bullying week. It’s a cover of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colours” done by a collection of Canadian artists, including members of Hedley and Simple Plan, 2 of my favourite bands.

Done in part in tribute to Amanda Todd, a victim of bullying who committed suicide last September, the proceeds from the purchase of this song are going to help support Kids Help Phone.

Cyndi Lauper’s version of this has always been a personal favourite as a unofficial anthem of the gay rights movement and I’m glad to hear it re-purposed for another critical cause.
